Tight-top, Euro-top or pillow-top: which mattress style is right for you?

3 min read · Published 4 November 2026 · Equatorial Sleep

The top of a mattress changes how it looks and how it feels the moment you lie down. You will see three main styles in our range.

Tight-top

The cover is stitched flat across the surface. It feels clean and supportive, with less loft, and it suits people who like a firmer, more direct feel. Examples include Cool Wave, Classic, Comfort and Urban.

Euro-top

The cushioning is stitched inside the cover, which gives a softer layer with a smooth, flush edge. It balances plushness with a neat profile. Examples include Glacier Breeze, Elegance and Fresh.

Pillow-top

An extra layer of cushioning is sewn on top of the mattress, which creates a raised, plush edge and a deeper, softer feel. Examples include Royal Imperial, Polar Air and Essence.

Pillow + Euro-top

Arctic Rest combines both for our deepest cooling mattress.

How to choose

  • Prefer firm, direct support? Start with a tight-top.
  • Want some softness but a clean look? Try a Euro-top.
  • Want the plushest, hotel-style feel? Try a pillow-top.

You can filter by plush cushioning on our mattress page, and the top style is listed on every card.
